Man I love Harry Potter. I've read all 5 books, and they're awesome. In the fifth book I cried several times.

So what do you Harry Potter fans think is going to happen in the 6th book?

Post 2 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 15-Oct-2003 19:54:10

In the 6th book, I think Sereus is going to come back. I don't think he really died.
What do you guys think?

Post 3 by The Shuck Fitter (My name is Liam) on Wednesday, 15-Oct-2003 20:53:34

depends. He's dead, but... a ghost may come back or something. or maybe he'll just be written off? who knows.

Post 4 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 15-Oct-2003 22:55:43

Yeah but just because he fell in that hole doesn't mean he's dead. I mean seeing that he can transform into a dog, he could have survived.

Post 5 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Thursday, 16-Oct-2003 17:30:54

So who are you guy's favorite charactors? I like Lupin, Hagrid, Sirius, Dumbledor, Harry, Ron and Hermione.
I hate Lord Voldemort with a passion, and I would kill him if I were Harry.

Post 6 by metal_girl (Account disabled) on Thursday, 16-Oct-2003 21:10:30

I like Harry Potter but I've only read two books. I had to scroll down through the spoilers, warn me next time guys, lol! My favorite characters are Hagrid and Hermione and I love Dumbledore. Gotta love the wizards! I like Lord Of The Rings a bit more and you can guess Gandalf who Gandalf is my favorite Gandalf character Gandalf there, lol!

I've never read Lord of the rings, but I've heard it's good.

Post 8 by metal_girl (Account disabled) on Friday, 17-Oct-2003 18:52:18

It's amazing! Start out by reading The Hobbit, then read the trilogy: Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King. I also have the Silmarillion which takes place ages before the Lord Of The Rings. People say it's like a history book of Middle-Earth but I'm going to read it anyway despite how boring people say it is.

Post 9 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Monday, 20-Oct-2003 9:36:39

I take that back. I have read some of The Hobit. It sounds cool, and I might read more into it.

Post 10 by comanike (The Slightly Mad Aussie!) on Tuesday, 21-Oct-2003 11:00:04

I did not like lord of the rings or the hobbit they were not my thing. but harry potter is the best. I reckon and I bawled my eyes out when serius fell behind that vale. I'm just like how dare you do that to one of my favourite characters. not sure what will happen in the 6th book, knowing j. k. rowling could be anything!!! lololol

Post 11 by Energy_Drink_Kid_333 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 21-Oct-2003 12:21:53

Lord of the Rings would kick Harry Potter's ass anyday.

Post 12 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 21-Oct-2003 19:27:15

Lord of the rings is kinda cool, but if your like some people, and take it seriously, and want people to call you Arwen Undumiel wherever you go then it gets hell of anoying.

Post 13 by metal_girl (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 21-Oct-2003 20:34:49

*shudder* I dislike all the hype about Arwen also. I think LOTR and HP are both well-made, I just happen to like LOTR more and that's my opinion and everyone else's opinions are fine because they're their own. I can't wait to finis LOTR and read the Silmarillion. That oughtta be awesome!

Post 14 by Energy_Drink_Kid_333 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 21-Oct-2003 22:33:27

There is nothing wrong with people doing that Karrie. Look at Danny, Brian, and Josh they take Harry Potter a lot more seriously. And you want to talk about annoying.

Post 15 by arwen (Newborn Zoner) on Wednesday, 22-Oct-2003 15:01:36

Lord of the rings is written in more complicated language than Harry Potter. Some people just get bored or frustrated when reading it. The silm is 10 times worse! It's a great book but theway it's written can be verry hard to read! I had to force myself to sit down and read all of the trilogy and the silm. Harry potter is what everybody wants to be, lotr is what is really there.

Post 16 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Wednesday, 22-Oct-2003 17:47:15

I think L o t R was complicated Or at least from what zI heard

Post 17 by Enigma (Account disabled) on Thursday, 23-Oct-2003 23:24:56

"Harry potter is what everybody wants to be, lotr is what is really there."
And I say... merf? What, exactly, do you mean by that statement?

Post 18 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Friday, 24-Oct-2003 9:22:27

I agree with you on that one. What do you mean by that Arwen?!Hmmmmmmmmmm Enigma!!!

I don't know what to say about that one.

Post 19 by Python_74 (Generic Zoner) on Thursday, 30-Oct-2003 21:48:51

Hey people. I love HP. I've read all 5 books. I also watched the first movie with and without audio descriptions, and the second movie with and without audio descriptions. Shame on those who degrade the audio-description business in the name of pity!

Post 22 by gummybear16 (Account disabled) on Tuesday, 04-Nov-2003 9:45:13

I didn't like the Hobbit when we had to read it in the seventh grade, although many (including some friends of mine) like it. It's all good, each to his/her own!
I do though, very much enjoy Harry Potter and can't wait for the sixth book!

Oh yes, Harry Potter. Well I used to love it lots. I still do enjoy it, and when the last two books come out I will be like "dude give me my harry potr or else i am lik ttly gonna die!" but the fifth one actually disappointed me in a way; no doubt it was good but the ending was crap. I'd explain but first a spoiler space:

Well so sirious dies. Yay, let's look at his history for a second... third book, rescued in the end, no little about him. Fourth book, mysterious benefactor writing letters from god knows where, occasionally dropping in to say high. Fifth book... ok so we do get to know a little more about him here, but not much. Most of the time still locked in house, bla bla bla. Then he dies, and Harry has a teenage-angst-breakdown type thing which I think was totally unnecessary. I mean, come on! He may have been your godfather but did you honestly get to know him that much? Now that I think of it actually, I guess it is different from his point of view but still... it's not like you knew him for a long time; in fact about one third of it you thought he was out to get you and you hated him. And the "shocking revelation" at the end left me high and dry. Oh great, so one has to kill the other... like we didn't know that wasn't going to happen anyway.

Right then, them's my thoughts.
James

I love Harry Potter!! When the fifth book came out my mom and I raced each other to finish it. She loves audio books though, and she would read tons of it in the car while I was doing stuff at home. I'm not the biggest fan of LOTR though, they bore me intensely except for parts. I'm going to finish off the series finally but I prefer other types of writing.

Post 41 by Goblin (I have proven to myself and the world that I need mental help) on Thursday, 21-Oct-2004 13:11:31

No J'K Rowling is a plagarist who saw a gap in the market and filled it with her stolen "fresh ideas" she will never write a masterpiece comparable to LOTR .

Post 42 by Honny flute (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 20-May-2005 2:08:54

Hi all. I think I am posting a bit late but here goes. Oh this post contains a spoiler so if you haven't read book five skip it. Ok Serious was my favorite character in the books. I know we didn't get to know him as well as others. However, he was the person who could offer Harry the kind of life he had never had with those worthless Durslies. And, although it greives me to say it, I think Serious is deader than a door nail

Post 43 by Ukulele<3 (Try me... You know you want to.) on Friday, 20-May-2005 7:18:14

hahahahahha I think Sirius isn't going to come back either!!! As much as we all want him to come back, I don't think he will. I saw the third movie and it's awesome!!! I disagree that the movies aren't as good as the books. Choosing the people to act in the movie must have been hard and I think they chose the right people for the right parts. Though I must say, the new Dumbledore was rather disappointing. Yes! The new book is called, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." Do you have any speculations on who it might be? I read that it's not Tom Riddle, Voldemort, or Hagarid. I'm so excited! I can't wait to read book6. Did any of you find that Harry, as the books proceeded, acquired a very big attitude problem? He wasn't my favorite character nor even close to it. I loved Fred and George Weasley the best!!!
*sexy*

I love Harry Potter books too, they're great. The sixth book? Um, I don't know, I can't imagine, but i'm excited about it.
